Through the Veterans' Voices Initiative we have expanded our efforts bringing more art classes to our Veteran community. Under the direction of creator/curator Deprise Brescia we continue offering FREE ART CLASSES in multiple locations for our veterans, active military, their families and dependants.
Larry LeBrane teaches veterans basic skills to create fused glass artwork. In his classes, you’ll design, cut & prepare items for glass fusing & slumping, with access to tools, molds, kiln firings & scrap glass to create individual projects with design & technical guidance.

Shevon Sullivan - Anam Cre' Pottery Studio
Clay pottery classes for veterans provides Instruction on pottery wheel, sculpture and painting techniques. Requires two sessions to complete the work made, set date in class. Finished work available after being fired.

Veterans Artist Rusty Smith teaches a FREE surfboard making workshop in partnership with Ampsurf for our veterans.

Karen Coleman teaches a meditative art experience inspired by Zentangle. FREE for Veterans and their Families in partnership with Veterans Outreach SLO.

This two-day veterans workshop/classes are family inclusive. We request at least one member of the family be a veteran and that no unsupervised young children, as we will be working with glass. The first Sunday artist Kelly Johnson will guide the participants through the layout of their glass mobiles.

In an effort to help our Veterans from the armed services better deal with PTSD, we are offering creative journaling classes beginning the month of June 2017. These classes are created specifically for our Vets and build upon one another. These classes explore tools to help deal with emotions in a safe way.

As a collaborative effort with the Veterans Outreach of San Luis Obispo, we are committed to providing ongoing services through the arts for our veterans and their families. Veterans Outreach provided the veterans and we provided the art space and materials with minimal limitations and maximum creativity. Our Veterans day "Rock Painting" was quite popular, so we are continuing to provide this service for our veterans.
